One day, back in 2003, on my way through my new (and first) computer I came
across a place called PAINT -- I went in look around and stayed for weeks. It turned
out to be quite an interesting place. I practically cocooned in there for the rest of
our cold Pennsylvania winter. And that's how I stumbled into computer painting. It's
been quite an adventure. Oh, the places I went!
I was hooked from the start. It brought a wonderful sense of artistic self-satisfaction
in a new medium. I painted almost every day, my mouse was my brush and my
pencil. I had no special programs or equipment and I am self-taught.
I was ecstatic watching another creative facet of myself emerging. I was also very
grateful to have an artist friend, living right down the road, who encouraged me to
"keep them coming" -- Plus a daughter (in-law) who quickly became my # 1 fan and
a son who so patiently sat and looked at all of my finished paintings.
My enthusiasm for seeing how a painting turned out kept growing stronger. Ideas
flowed easily and I was learning so much in the process.
Now, don't start calling me Grandma Moses (of the computer-set) just
yet...However, one never knows, does one?
