Peggy Barnes passed away on
February 1, 2008. She had been an
artist for 25 years. She normally worked
in oil, but occasionally used acrylic and
pastels. She usually worked from
photographs she had taken herself.
She had four years of formal training
and taught in her studio in Tolar, Texas
for fifteen years. Her favorite subject is
a landscape with bluebonnets, the
Texas State Flower. Her art never was
her livelihood, but did supplement her
income. She had retired from painting
by age 68 because of deteriorating
eyesight. These paintings were
photographed and posted here in
loving tribute to Ms. Barnes by her
daughter, Sherri.
